Changing bad habits requires alot of effort and support, and if you don't have support it is alot harder. You have to have both good support and self motivation to make such a massive life change. There was this documentary I saw about this lb fellow on one of the islands. All these medical professionals were bending over backwards to help him but he wouldn't change his ways and his wife, who fed him, wouldn't stand up and say no to anything he asked for. He would demand certain foods and she would bring them to him, because she didn't want to go against him. I felt really bad for the wife, because all the medical professionals were reaming her for giving him this stuff and she didn't know how to cope, because he would yell at her until she brought what he wanted.
